A'Face's favourite food right now is the almighty pork rib.
Except he calls them "wibs".
One Saturday, after picking Grandma up from work, the plan was to go to a local sushi fusion place for lunch and A'Face would of course, be ordering the 'wibs'.
But, he refused to talk to Grandma. There was no "hello", no "good morning", no acknowledgment whatsoever of Grandma's existence.
In turn, Grandma threatened to eat the wibs when they arrived at the table.
Still, a silence.
That is, until the ribs were being brought to the table. A'Face quickly blurted out, "HI GRANDMA!".
It is clear that A'Face loves wibs even at the cost of being a beast.

Sad Meal
A'Face wanted a sad meal.
Angelo: What's a sad meal? Don't you mean a Happy Meal from McDonald's?
A'Face: Well, I don't need the toy because I have too many already, so I want a sad meal.
What a clown.
Uh...a sad clown?

He Laughs
The other day at school, BH's nemesis who, according to BH is constantly naughty, smacked our little BH.
A discussion followed with Uncle Bunji as to A'Face's reaction to the fight.
"What did A'Face do? Did he help you?" Uncle Bunji asked, "because he's supposed to stand up for his cousin."
"No. He lassed," BH replied.
"He what? He laughed?" H1 asked. "Why did he laugh at you honey?"
"He always lass. A'Face is a lasser now," BH said.
Uncle Bunji was upset to hear that A'Face is a lasser. We were upset too but we still think being a 'lasser' might be a funny thing.
Lassable, even.

At Four Years Old: A Love Story, Part I
At four years old, there should be no "love story". I don't want to hear anything about my boys talking about girlfriends. No!
Unfortunately, I had to hear all about it today.
A'Face and B'Head were on the playground and from the top of the jungle gym, A'Face while looking out, says "I don't see my girlfriend."
In the distance he spotted her. "BH! I see her! Let's go get her!"
Grandma nixed that immediately. "Oh no! You two stay right here!"
A'Face sometime later, had this little girl in his company and introduced her to BH as his girlfriend.
Back at the car, Grandma started asking 21 questions.
Grandma: What's her name, A'Face?
A'Face: Ummm....I don't know...
BH: Think, A'Face, think!
A'Face: Yes! "Think" is her name!
At four years old, there truly are no stories of love.

In the Backyard, Hanging Out with My Cousin II: The A'Face Edition
Bucket game aside, there are other things to do in Or 2's backyard.
Pine Cones can be Fun:
Pine Cones can be Fun:
A lonely pine cone.
Lonely, no longer.
Ack! Sand in the eyes! Stupid pine cone!
Okay, so maybe the pine cone wasn't such a great idea.
Rocks, now those things can be Fun:
Check out my strawberry, Suga'Face!
(Suga'Face here: I could have sworn
it was a rock but I lack imagination, clearly)
Burying the ro...strawberry? But why?
Is that how we treat our strawberries in this day and age?
Tada! Gone!
Well that was a rather...enlightening experience.
Brooms can be Fun (Again):
I spy with my little eye...
Something that begins with "B"
What to do with a broom other than sweep? I've got it!
Suga' Face: Hold on a second, buddy.
What are you planning on doing with that broom, A'Face?!
Can't we talk about this first? Wait..wait...wai..
This'll learn you to take me to your
steenking non-fun Backyard, Suga'Face.
That was the last thing I saw.
However, here I am to tell the tale and thankfully did not end up like that strawberry.

In the Backyard, Hanging Out with My Cousin
What sort of fun things can a kid do when his cousin comes for a visit?
Why, play in the sand where the pool once stood.
I know, it kinda skeeved me out too.
To get to the sand area, one has to roll down a "hilly" bit. Once there, the fun begins.
What game does a kid play with his cousin who came for a visit, now that they're in the sand?
Why, the game involving putting sand into a bucket.
Games, as we are all aware, have rules.
The ground rules for this particular game are as follows:
Why, play in the sand where the pool once stood.

Lots of hard work, that hill-rolling.

Why, the game involving putting sand into a bucket.
Games, as we are all aware, have rules.
The ground rules for this particular game are as follows:
Zen Garden the sand. With broom in hand,
your playing field will be even.
And let us not forget...beautiful.
That's correct. Observe the broom.
Get the broom.
Be the broom.
Only after the business of the broom, may you begin to play "Fill the Dirty Bucket with Sand".
Leave the two-handed bucket
filling to the professionals.
After some time, your bucket should look like this.
My, looking good if I do say so.
Oh, it needs more sand does it?
Well how was I to know? I wasn't invited to play this game.
The game ends when a sigh escapes from Boo Head.
It's the sort of sigh I associate with "I'm bored".
I could have been mistaken though.
Filling a bucket one-quarter of the way up seems rather taxing for two pairs of hands.

A'Face and A'Cheeks
Our loveable two visited recently.
As it turns out, no longer does BooHead take beatings from A'Face but he's now all about repaying all the times he was wronged.
Other than the few scuffles, here are a couple of memorable moments the NC HOChie Chirren left us with:
1. It was very cold on the Thursday I spent with A'Face. Cold enough to warrant a winter coat, gloves and a hat. Unfortunately, we did not have a hat that was acceptable to A'Face's liking.
After Grandma gave him the grey and dark blue number, he said, "I need a mirror."
We directed him to the room, where he looked at himself, started laughing and pulled it off, "No."
Well.
The hoodie was okay enough and apparently had to be.
2. A'Cheeks - not only does she fancy herself a pole, she also fancies herself a slapping hand.
As she was sitting on her daddy's lap, H1 came around trying to taunt the little one. Putting her head on Bunji's shoulder, she said to A'Cheeks, "Mmmyy Daddyyyy".
POW.
The hand went up, and the face was slapped.
H1 got told.
I miss them.

Two Lost Causes
Ever since Bunji moved away from us, his sanity has been slipping away.
From loving the Fray to all manner of pop songs, I just don't know where I went wrong.
I feel responsible for him.
I also feel responsible for the chirren.
A'Face is sadly following his father.
In "Sing Star", he was quietly with microphone in hand, singing his little heart away the awful tune of "Beautiful" by James Blunt.
And the other day in the car, he was singing that obscene wrong song, Do the Helen Keller.
What?
And now Chunky Boo.
Just when I thought things could not be worse, Chunky Boo goes forth and distresses me even more.
This is really upsetting, so I hope whoever is reading this is sitting down.
Every time she sees a pole, she goes up to it, holds on and starts to dance.
...
I have to make sure BH doesn't go the way of evil though he is starting to dance without rhythm these days.
I am worried.
Currently listening to: "Believe Me Natalie" by The Killers. How inappropriately appropriate! Ugh!

Telling A'Face Like It is
A'Face was being fussy and kept asking for Daddy, even though he knew very well that his Daddy was next door and was coming right back (that's how brats behave sometimes).
BH told him, "Your Daddy is coming back. Hush."
Harsh.
BH told him, "Your Daddy is coming back. Hush."
Harsh.

"Big Bird is..."
"...A'Face."
It's not yellow if that's what you people were thinking.
Just so it is known, "Elmo's hat is on his..."
"...bottom."
And there you have it.

Presents for A'Face
This week, Boo-Head took pieces of paper and wrapped up presents for A'Face.
Today, he wrapped another.
I hope A'Face likes packets of duck sauce and rubber bands.

Unintenional Insults
A'Face called to talk to Grandma but when he got on the phone, he was all silent.
"What's the matter, A'Face?" asked Grandma, "you suddenly dumbed up?"
At his point, Boobey got on the phone and began chanting "dumb! Dumb! Dumb!" to A'Face.
I would not have done that if I were Boo Head….
Currently listening to: "All the Men in my Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons" by The original Cast of Evil Dead the Musical.

ReThinking
"My Grandma! My Grandma!" - this after he realised Grandma and Papa went to visit A'Face and B'Cheeks.
Then silence. Followed by,
"My A'Face."
Today is new day, I suppose.

Wiping Away, Birthday and the Crane Game!
This past week, Boo-Head has done many things of the 'naughty' kind.
He has begun to wipe off his mommy's kisses! And pretty much everyone else's too.
The other thing he insists upon this week is saying that his birthday is on Saturday.
I got a box of presents that he contributed to, and what does he do?
"Open it!"
"No, Boobey, it's my box! It's my stuff for my birthday!"
"Jogan's! Train! Open please!"
"No, it's MY birthday! Suga'Face's!"
"Jogan's" ::taps chest to indicate it is his birthday.
"Suga'Face's."
"Jogan's."
Eh. That kid likes to keed.
One cool thing he has started doing is creating 'scenarios'. This week, he set two of his cars up as if they had been in a bit of an accident and overturned, left them, then went to find a crane to get them out of the drain.
Yep, he told Grandma that he needed a crane.
And in a bit of an interesting news non-Boobey Head related, A'Face told me, "I cry. I hate school."
I don't know where he learnt the word 'hate' either.
Currently: Really thirsty. I wish the cats would get me water.

Okay Then.
Or 2: Is Boobey whiney today?
H1: No, A'Face was happy to see him.
Or 2: Oh, okay.
H1: B'Cheeks was happy to see Grandma.
Or 2: Okay.
H1: Boobey was happy to see an apple.
Or 2: Wha'?
H1: Yeah.

The First Day
Yesterday, little Boobey-Head went to his first day of Day Care.
The last few weeks or so have been traumatic for H1 and myself because we were nervous about sending him away to a place where he knew no one, nor would he have any of his family there with him being that it would be a first for him to ever be without us.
It turns out that he did great.
As I heard it, he ran away from his daddy to go play with a bag of cars he saw, then only after 30-40 minutes he realised he was alone, and then started to cry.
Because he was upset, he did not eat breakfast but made up for it at lunch.
He also had the loudest voice on the playground for most of the day.
Overall, he apparently had a good day and did quite well.
We're proud and I'm sure next week will be easier for us.
Today was A'Face's 2nd birthday (Happy Birthday A'Face!) and it just made us think about how fast time goes and that B'Head will be approaching his 2nd in a couple of months too.
This morning he was a big boy, sitting on my lap with much clarity in his speaking. It won't be long before he'll be talking at full speed in complete sentences we can understand.
Boo-Head will probably not let me call him that soon.
I'm sure there'll be plenty of Hi-Jinks even when that time comes.

Froggy Fun
A'Face came to visit today and discovered a plastic frog in Boo-Head's collection of toys.
According to A'Face, the froggy says "Yibbit". The frog is apparently Jewish.
Currently: trying to figure out why the Dragons in Dragon Tales are Spanish. There's no such thing as a Spanish Dragon!

Did I mention I feel sorry for the poor screaming little frog?

Connecticut: the New Sodor?
There was a train adventure today involving Thomas. Boo-Head and A. Face went to Connecticut to ride the 'real' Thomas the Tank Engine.
I was not there but later when I asked Boobey where he went and who did he see, he sweetly smiled and said "Thomas". I asked him if he had fun and he replied cutely, "fun". Awww, that smile was classic.
He's so full of knowing, not that he wasn't before but the level of understanding is much more interactive now.
