Hiding in the Tall Grass...

An epic battle is about to begin.
A battle of friendly greetings! Because they're friends, of course!
Friends who frolick in the tall grass, and take a moment to smell the flowers.
It is certainly a beautiful day, today.
The grass smells fresh and summery!
And the colours out here are gorgeous.
The flowers smell beautiful too.
::sigh:: It's all very true.
Fly, friends!
We're off to find food because it's time for lunch.
Mmmm, yummy! Eating is what I do best!
Scrumptious.  A happy end to a happy, sunshine-y day with two friends hanging out in the Tall Grass.

Construction

When Spring comes, how better to spend your time than doing construction work with your neighbour M.

Bricks and cones were shuffled from one area to the next.

Holes were dug, which led to canals being dug.

The best though, was how far to dig your canal.  How far, you ask? How do you know where it ends?

It's simple, really.  You dig as far as the snake as per the instructions of Foreman M..

The what?

The snake.

Yep, the beady, red-eyed devil snake lurking in the grass.

Boohead recognized the dangers of such a request and refused.

I believe the snake was also okay with that.

A Boy and His Bubbles

As H1 says, is there any kid who does not love bubbles?

I mean, really.

I still love them.

BH had fun in the yard on Sunday and with this ultra-cool toy and how could he not?

Run!
Amazing!
Hide? Where'd he go?
There he is! Back at it.
Bubbles? Gaseous bubbles? Suspicious!
"Look at my handiwork.  I'm the most awesome."
Dancing with bubbles on a lazy Sunday, almost Summer afternoon.
That's the life

Tip-Toe

Through the Dandelions!

I always thought it was tulips...

Really there was no tip-toeing but these are what Saturdays should be all about...

 Eating dandelions

and practicing the arts of magic by using dandelion wands.

In the Backyard, Hanging Out with My Cousin II: The A'Face Edition

Bucket game aside, there are other things to do in Or 2's backyard.

Pine Cones can be Fun:

A lonely pine cone.

Lonely, no longer.

Ack! Sand in the eyes! Stupid pine cone!

Okay, so maybe the pine cone wasn't such a great idea.

Rocks, now those things can be Fun:

  Check out my strawberry, Suga'Face!
(Suga'Face here: I could have sworn
it was a rock but I lack imagination, clearly)
Burying the ro...strawberry? But why?
Is that how we treat our strawberries in this day and age?

Tada! Gone!

Well that was a rather...enlightening experience.

 Brooms can be Fun (Again):

I spy with my little eye...

Something that begins with "B"

What to do with a broom other than sweep? I've got it!

Suga' Face: Hold on a second, buddy.
What are you planning on doing with that broom, A'Face?!
Can't we talk about this first? Wait..wait...wai..

This'll learn you to take me to your
steenking non-fun Backyard, Suga'Face.

That was the last thing I saw.

However, here I am to tell the tale and thankfully did not end up like that strawberry.

In the Backyard, Hanging Out with My Cousin

What sort of fun things can a kid do when his cousin comes for a visit?

Why, play in the sand where the pool once stood.

I know, it kinda skeeved me out too.

To get to the sand area, one has to roll down a "hilly" bit.  Once there, the fun begins.

Lots of hard work, that hill-rolling.

What game does a kid play with his cousin who came for a visit, now that they're in the sand?

Why, the game involving putting sand into a bucket.

Games, as we are all aware, have rules.

The ground rules for this particular game are as follows:

Zen Garden the sand.  With broom in hand,
your playing field will be even.
And let us not forget...beautiful.

 That's correct.  Observe the broom.
Get the broom.
Be the broom.

Only after the business of the broom, may you begin to play "Fill the Dirty Bucket with Sand".

Leave the two-handed bucket
filling to the professionals.

After some time, your bucket should look like this.
My, looking good if I do say so.

Oh, it needs more sand does it?
Well how was I to know? I wasn't invited to play this game.

The game ends when a sigh escapes from Boo Head.

It's the sort of sigh I associate with "I'm bored".

I could have been mistaken though.

Filling a bucket one-quarter of the way up seems rather taxing for two pairs of hands.

King of the (Dirt) Hill

What's a boy to do with all the dirt presented to him in his backyard?

Why, run a bulldozer through it, of course.

And oops!

I may not be Jill, but I can tumble like nobody's buisness!

Boooooobeeeeyyy

Yesterday, I went over to H1's house to retrieve the PS3 chord to transfer our Rock Band songs to Rock Band 2 for use by The Oxtails in the future.

When I got there, Boo Head was strapped into his seat at the table, having dinner with his mommy and daddy. However, he saw me and immediately wanted to be let down.

"Boobey," he whispered when he saw me followed by a loud, "DADDA! OUT PLEASE! OUT!"

By the time he was let out, I was already upstairs looking for the chord when all I could hear coming from downstairs was the sound of Boo Head eagerly looking for me.

"BOOOOBBEEEEEEY!"

He darted from the kitchen, to the living room, to the bedrooms before he realised I was upstairs. When he got to the bottom of the stairs, he looked up and saw me staring at him.

"Here I am!" I called.

"Boobey. Come downstairs!" was the reply I was met with.

Following demands and upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, I was taken away to play cars.

I told him a secret that he has kept well-guarded from his mommy just as I asked him to.

What's the secret?

We'll be playing Rock Band this weekend with new songs to sing.

He seemed unimpressed at first but then smiled quietly and said, "Hey Ho. Let's go!"

Wiping Away, Birthday and the Crane Game!

This past week, Boo-Head has done many things of the 'naughty' kind.

He has begun to wipe off his mommy's kisses! And pretty much everyone else's too.

The other thing he insists upon this week is saying that his birthday is on Saturday.

I got a box of presents that he contributed to, and what does he do?

"Open it!"
"No, Boobey, it's my box! It's my stuff for my birthday!"
"Jogan's! Train! Open please!"
"No, it's MY birthday! Suga'Face's!"
"Jogan's" ::taps chest to indicate it is his birthday.
"Suga'Face's."
"Jogan's."

Eh. That kid likes to keed.

One cool thing he has started doing is creating 'scenarios'. This week, he set two of his cars up as if they had been in a bit of an accident and overturned, left them, then went to find a crane to get them out of the drain.

Yep, he told Grandma that he needed a crane.

And in a bit of an interesting news non-Boobey Head related, A'Face told me, "I cry. I hate school."

I don't know where he learnt the word 'hate' either.

Currently: Really thirsty. I wish the cats would get me water.

Play-doh

With our yellow, green and blue Play-doh, Boo-Head and I have been creating masterpieces!

Most times we create food and thus far we've 'feasted' on meatball pizza, drinks of various kinds, a burger, a T-Bone steak, blueberries and green peas.

Our creatures have been shaped into a Pumpkin the Cat, a Jazzie the Cat and a Bird. Once, there was a Caterpillar (which I only just this second realized what it was because for the life of me, I couldn't figure out what I had made nor could he).

The recent obsession has been the molding of a boppie, a baby, a bottle and the baby's toy car.

But 'sshhhh', the baby's sleeping.

shhhhh...
