A Pretzel and a Dollar

The other day we went to the wholesale club BJ's.

I was busy with Papa HOchie and Grandma at the Verizon counter, getting new phones when H1 and BH suddenly appeared.

BH was prattling off on something and H1 looked suspect.

Not quite understanding what he was saying, H1 asked him to tell me what he wanted.

"Pretzel. Want pretzel."

So, that was fine. I told him to go get one but there he was, still rambling on about something.

"Need dollar."

What.

Apparently, he was throwing a fit with his Mommy and demanded a pretzel. When he told that there was no dollar to be had, he asked for me.

"Where Boobey."

What.

He associates me with money and wanted to find me because he needed a dollar and came around to shake me down for one.

...

It's not right.

Birthday Routine

The tail end of the year means lots of birthdays for the HOChieS and friends, and BooHead has become skilled at celebrating. He knows exactly what is supposed to happen once that cake comes out.

For Grandma's birthday, he sweetly sang Happy Birthday and gave her the present he bought for her. As soon as he gave, he quickly tore the paper off because he's quite skilled at unwrapping gifts as well. He also demanded that she put on the earrings ('earrings!' he called in surprise as if he didn't know what he got for her) right away.

Last Saturday, we celebrated JJ's Birthday and went to her Birthday party in Brooklyn. There were many kids and parents about and as soon as the cake was unveiled he began singing Happy Birthday before everyone else. They weren't moving quickly enough I suppose, so he clamoured for them to 'candle in', 'light it', 'blow' and 'take out candle'.

He knows that you just don't delay the eating of the cake.

Smart.

Question

Or 2: Boobey? Did you poop?
Boo-Head: No thank you.

He's clever, that one.

Currently listening to: "Queer" by Garbage.
