Two Lost Causes

Ever since Bunji moved away from us, his sanity has been slipping away.

From loving the Fray to all manner of pop songs, I just don't know where I went wrong.

I feel responsible for him.

I also feel responsible for the chirren.

A'Face is sadly following his father.

In "Sing Star", he was quietly with microphone in hand, singing his little heart away the awful tune of "Beautiful" by James Blunt.

And the other day in the car, he was singing that obscene wrong song, Do the Helen Keller.

What?

And now Chunky Boo.

Just when I thought things could not be worse, Chunky Boo goes forth and distresses me even more.

This is really upsetting, so I hope whoever is reading this is sitting down.

Every time she sees a pole, she goes up to it, holds on and starts to dance.

...

I have to make sure BH doesn't go the way of evil though he is starting to dance without rhythm these days.

I am worried.

Vacation

In June, after months of requesting one, BH finally had his Beach Party.

Here are a few vacation pics:

He had fun times.

A Run for a Run

BH's present for pooping in the potty was a bad-assed marble run that H1 picked out.

Look at it! Makes you people want to come over to our house, right?

I'd say it'd make you want to use the potty but that didn't work out on him. He refused to be bribed. The marble run was just not as important as we thought it to be and he would rather resist.

Sometimes it really sucks he's so stubborn and determined.

Startin' Him Off Early

It was never our intent for him to be acquainted with video games until he was I don't know, 10 or so but certainly not at 2.5 years old.

Unfortunately, you hang around a gamer, you pick up gaming, I guess?

I made sure to not play Grand Theft Auto IV: Chinatown Wars around him.

I can assure all that I made sure I was not poppin' caps in people's asses during turf wars or stealing cars in his presence.

His father on the other hand may have stolen a car or two and went driving with him in GTA:IV.

BH enjoyed watching the "ghost" game: Persona 3, while I played though I didn't play that around him either or do anything other than go to school or occasionally visit the Velvet Room.

The song that plays in that space is kind of creepy with operatic vocals and I don't know where he gets this stuff from but he always wanted me to go see "Ghooosstttss". He associated the eerie sound with ghosts and thus his obsession continues.

One of his current favourites is Crash Bandicoot.

Like most people, he is fascinated by the Tiki Mask, and more so the sound the Mask makes when one collects it.

He doesn't like it when I hit the turtles but he's okay with the spinning attack on some 'kunks (skunks).

So far, his favourite game is Patapon 2. He may love those little one-eyed beasts almost as much as I do and is very upset with them right now that they're building a bridge and cannot be bothered (ie I am finished with the game and won't play it anymore). He keeps asking for them though and will once in a while ask if they are finished building their bridge. I told him that it'd probably take them about 2 years or so to complete.

He likes digging up the garden and wacking pinatas in Viva Pinata. I...don't know anything about that or why H1 would allow such a blatant display of violence.

But it might explain why he will tell his daddy to go "get" certain types of cars in GTA:IV.

Of course, the game that started it all was his love of The Ramones and Rock Band.

He has graduated from singing and is starting to play an instrument...kind of.

::sniff::

I'm so proud!

The Bee

One day, while BH and I were running around the yard, he decided that he would play a bee and 'sting' me.

Regardless of what H1 thinks, I maintain that I did not teach him this nonsense nor is he 'pick up' his ridiculousness from me. He inherited it from his mother.

Learning to Fib

Today in the car, he told his mommy that he was 'tarving. Starving, even. And starving, still.

It was of course, Grandma who starved him all day, according to his story.

All this drama for a sit down dinner at the Train Station and some nerds candy.

It turns out that when I got home, Grandma was starving me.

Can you believe that woman failed to have my hot dogs ready and waiting?!

It Finally Came

The Poop finally came and rested itself in the potty.

There was a tad bit of fight from BH and Grandma had to hold him down but we think only due to the fact that it was one of those hard, stubborn ones that hurt.

Later, a very tiny piece came and rested itself in his pants.

No fault of his, I think - like his Uncle MC, it was probably the result of a shart.

BH looked at it and exclaimed, "it's cute!".

Hm.

Oh and in the event inquiring minds wanted to know...yes, he did in fact, sing to his poop in the potty.

Too Much

Today, Grandma was told:

"You watch too many newses. It is time to watch my show now."

It's true, she does.

If only he were here at nights when Grandma watches Nancy Grace and CNN for about 2 hours every night.

Potty Training

The potty training has not been going so well and he's due at school in October and has to be trained by then.

Back in May, Grandma had him sitting on the potty and after a long while he sighed and said, "Poop! Oh poop...why aren't you coming out poop?"

These days, he tells me that he doesn't want the poop to be flushed because he likes it. And he wants to sing to it.

The poop has not yet come to the potty, so I'm still waiting to see that spectacle when it happens.

Scary

He's getting better about pronouncing his letters.

For a while there, "L"s and "Y"s were "W" as in "Weg" (Leg) or "WoWo" (YoYo) but those days are no more, which is kind of sad for us.

I haven't heard him lately but he also pulls a tactic. When he wants to stay outside instead of going inside to eat or whatever, he pulls the "I 'cared of Grandma! Grandma 'Cary!".

I'm not sure if he's pronouncing that "S" now, but I'm going to miss "'Cary" when that's over with too.

Inciting Fear, and Ghosts

"Wook! There's a crocodile in the lake!"

That exclamation was about a man-made lake in a community...in Long Island. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff either.

Quite proud of himself and his artwork, BH decided to stick his masterpieces all over the hospital walls as he walked by -

"Wook Wook! People will say 'ooo ahhh'. Don't say 'oo' ahh."

That's right, he had an entire converstaion with himself and played out his response to anyone's admiration. Unfortunately, no one said 'ooo ahhh' because they were too busy to notice our little BH.

And the following while at a memorial service in a Church:

"Ghoooosstttss. I see ghosts!" - BH

That's what he said when he saw the statues of Mary, Joseph and Jesus. The holy trinity?

Kind of scary, right?

The Things One Can Find in a Diaper

While sticking his hands in his diaper, the following exchange occurred:

"what's in here, mommy? Poop?" - BH
"No, I just changed you. There's nothing in there." - H1
"Yeah.. so my round bumsee in here?" - BH
"Yes. I guess so." - H1

I wonder if he found his triple cheek, which as of this day is still present.

May Conversations: Maids and Fish

Grandma: Are you ready?
BH: I am readymade!

Did he mean, "readymade" or "ready, maid"? If the latter, well that's awfully rude of him to treat Grandma that way!

Grandma: You are not to be selfish!
BH: ::runs into the kitchen:: I want to see selfish!

No matter what the fish, it should be cooked or swimming in a tank, I suppose.

Dreams

It's been a little while since we have blogged here but the hi jinks have not ended. I have lots of back blogging to do.

He's been dreaming and recalling much of lately but today he awoke frantic and sad.

BH: Boobey...I dreamt you got sting.
Boobey: I was?
BH: A dog bite me.
Boobey: But we're okay. It was just a dream.
BH: A fish sting you.
Boobey: A fish?
BH: And you died.
Boobey: Oh.

Hmmm.
