The Indignities One Endures

It's not just one of us that suffered at the hands of Boo Head yesterday, but a cat was also a casualty.

Well, I suppose BH was being kind when he surrounded Pumpkin with some of his lovely stuffed friends.  He even built him a fort.

Pumpkin did not seem to mind.  So I guess the one who suffered feeling unloved was Jazzie.

Here she is feeling jealous and giving the evil eye.
But you know who was terribly wronged this day?

Me.  Or 2.

After I was laying on the couch playing cars and boo with him, he jumped up ready to go outside and I was met with "Get up lazy Boobey".

The words hurt but it was the unassuming, sweet, sing-song way in which they were said that cut the deepest.

Then there was the drawing incident...

I was informed that that there is me.  I had to ask where my glasses were.

"Oh yeah, I forgot." and he drew them on.

You should have seen what I looked like before.

Winter Stories, Part IV

It's not Spring yet! The weather man told me Spring is not official until 7:21 p.m. tonight.

So I can still post winter stories! Not that Spring would stop me from pushing terrible reminders of this past Winter in your faces.  Oh no, I'm evil enough to do such a thing.  In fact, I think it's rather expected of me...

Anyway, for a couple of days last week, the winter brought a deluge of water.  There were rainy days - super rainy days! - that left our basements flooded.

BH had an unexpected day off from school and H1 stayed home to take care of the wee one.

The wee one decided that his day would be best spent with rain boots on, sitting in the middle of the Great Winter Flood of 2011.

Stay there...wee one? Puppy? Stay there!
Uhh...I thought we told you to stay there...
Looks like, the wee one puppy saved itself.  Which is good because even though we were inclined to save it, we would rather spend our time taking pictures of the carnage first.

Rule 1: Pictures first.  Saving later.

Winter Stories, Part III

Being pulled around by Momma on the some freshly fallen snow is the life.

A snowball fight with said Momma armed with giant snowballs is also the life.

Shaking the heck out of some tree is probably the best reward life has to offer...
...Well you know, not so much for the tree's life actually.

A Lobster Fest

Lobsters may look delicious in theory their tanks.

But crabs are the superior tasting claw fierce creatures.

Winter Stories, Part II

It's hard being BH.

There are wardrobes to consider, and expectations to be met.

Hoping that some girls will pass by, see you and take your picture is one such expectation.  He's right though, you know.

Cellphone
And a shovel?

Get this kid some fan girls.
Coolness should not be allowed to go unseen.

Winter Stories, Part I

This Winter has not passed without some sort of hi jinks.

For instance, here's a story about two deer that you may not have known.

Do you see that there? Those are deer tracks from two deer.

Two? you may ask.

Yes, that is what I was told.

So what exactly happened to these two deer?

Well, as it was told to me, one went one way...and the other made his escape via jumping over the fence.  The fence is not close to the tree mind you, so I can assure those were some true acrobatics performed by said deer.

Also, the deer that went the other way? I'm not sure how it managed but I can also tell you that there was no deer hiding in his little house.  That deer was gifted with Phantasm.

Or perhaps it was gifted with the power of Gopher-ism and burrowed into the ground there?

We may never know.

Sad Meal

A'Face wanted a sad meal.

Angelo: What's a sad meal? Don't you mean a Happy Meal from McDonald's?
A'Face: Well, I don't need the toy because I have too many already, so I want a sad meal.

What a clown.

Uh...a sad clown?

He Laughs

The other day at school, BH's nemesis who, according to BH is constantly naughty, smacked our little BH.

A discussion followed with Uncle Bunji as to A'Face's reaction to the fight.

"What did A'Face do? Did he help you?" Uncle Bunji asked, "because he's supposed to stand up for his cousin."

"No.  He lassed," BH replied.

"He what? He laughed?" H1 asked.  "Why did he laugh at you honey?"

"He always lass.  A'Face is a lasser now," BH said.

Uncle Bunji was upset to hear that A'Face is a lasser.  We were upset too but we still think being a 'lasser' might be a funny thing.

Lassable, even.

The Months of the Year

"I would like to see where Santa is now," BH said.

This was a week or so ago, well after Santa had already gone back to the North Pole for his hibernation.

"Well, I can tell you where he is.  He's at the North Pole.  Christmas is over and you will not be able to track Santa's flight until the end of the year.  That's almost a whole year away... see? We're in January.  Then there's February, Mar...," I began saying.

"...March, April, May, June...uhhh..." BH continued.

"Wow! I didn't know you knew the months, even though I did try to teach you at some point! It's July..." I helped.

"July, August, September, October, Newvember, DECEMBER!!!" he finished.

"Yep, very good! But now you know Santa's not coming for a while." I'm one to dash dreams, yes.

It's good to see he's learning things at school, except what the heck is "Newvember".  Don't worry, I let him know it was "November".  I'll quiz him in a few days to see what he says.

Sunday Breakfast at Your Local Diner

You ask Boo-Head to fill in the face, and he will present you with a very happy Family of Cyclops with superior smell piggy-nosed abilities.

Apparently, only the girl children are blessed with one eye a piece.

If you present me with a sheet as above, I'll....

To the Dark Side

Yesterday morning, BH asked for an Xbox 360.  I curse Microsoft for their Kinect marketing!!!!!

He's getting nothing from me.

Update on 12/07/2010:

He informs me that he wants a Kinect because he wants to be the controller.

1/2 of 1 billion dollars in marketing is working pretty good, I'd say.

Who Is It?

H1: What is this, BH?
BH: I don't know...
H1: You don't? What does it look?
BH: It...looks like my Daddy

Breaking Hearts

BH was not listening to Grandma yesterday when she asked him to put on his shoes and socks.  Finally, she went into the room to ask why he was not complying with her request.

His response was the immediate trickery, begging for sympathy line, "I luz you".  To which Grandma replied, "Yeah? We'll I don't luz you right now."

The shock of it all was too much for BH to bear.

"...Grandma...don't break my heart!"

Then this morning, his Momma asked him if Grandma broke his heart yesterday.

"Yes.  Grandma breaks...::pause:: break my heart".  It was not long after that BH could be heard singing that blasted song by Taio Cruz feat. Ludacris.

He's a joker but he really should stop singing that horrible song.

He should stick to his new song that he likes, "Lasso" by Phoenix.

A'Face on the other hand...he's a lost cause.  There he was singing "Fireflies" by Owl City to me on the phone this afternoon.  He sang it well and even after I berated him for telling him it was a terrible song and that I would teach him better ones.

Goodness knows what B'Cheeks was trying to sing to me on the phone after that.  It was probably Pink.  Ugh.

Those kids are breaking MY heart.
